The same as mine. We are both grown adults and we put 50-50 in everything. I'm no one's mom, he's not my ATM. With me, it's a partnership, not a hierarchy. Whoever has that ideology is already out of my life, I'm not here to compete or feel less/more than anyone in what's supposed to be my safe place.

Being themselves and not playing a role... Men and women that still expect one thing or the other, need growing up. I actually had a very similar conversation today.. See how most who believe in gender roles are also religious.

I'm not entirely a fan of this question. Nonetheless, I believe a man's role in a modern relationship isn't a set in stone one. He should be willing to take up roles as needed in the relationship and help his significant other with what they need. Really just being a decent person who works with their partner to help each other through this crazy thing called life is enough. We don't have to put each other in roles that we will not always be able to be at times. Just communicating, loving, and helping wach other out will do alot.

I do not Agee that a man's role should really need to be defined if a man and his partner are both satisfied in a relationship why box him into a certain lifestyle? A man can be a leader or a follower. A man can be the stay at home dad or the corporate breadwinner. All that really matters is if both people are satisfied.

The same role should be present in each partner to find balance. Show love and support, be there for one another in your times of need and do your best to communicate effectively.

Meh their are no predefined roles. You need to figure out what your role is going to be via coming to a consensus with your partner/s and your gender doesn't matter to that process

To support their chosen partner, protect them and care for them. This applies to both actually. Treat your partner just like you want to be treated. True sometimes it's nice to get queen treatment but never forget he is then the King and you ought to treat him like that.

I don't think there is a clear role. I think roles are based on the people and how they fit not their gender. Or so it should be.

Personally I don't think there are roles to play I like to work come home and cook then spend time with you but I need some sort of gesture to show that you care preferably an act of doing like clean or something more passionate

To lookout for the partner as much as she does for the man. I understand the times are busy, stressful but I think this is the basic thing. Also to heal himself so that he doesn't ruins the love they share by toxic behaviour. To be honest the second part applies to all genders in the relationship!

Any partners role in a relationship should be determined by those partners after discussing their wants and needs. Too many assumptions and expectations are placed on people and it sets up miscommunication and imbalance. (edited)

Relationship is a dance with 2 persons as such the only correct answer is: it depends If they want a more traditional approach where the woman care about the kid and the father provide I'm nobody to say otherwise If it's inverse more of the same, I have no right to say nah that's bad If they want something totally different or whatever approach they want it's, again, their decision to do In resume, it depends on what the 2 want, saying no bro it must be that way or that can't is just impose your point to somebody who has nothing to do with you (edited)

Same as it has always been. Leadership, protection and provision. And since someone will inevitably take issue over leadership in that list, how many of you are attracted to indecisive/subdued men? (edited)

The husband is the head of the family, above the wife. He is to love the wife as Christ loves the church. Being lower in the hierarchy does not make the wife inferior. Just as the children are not inferior just because they are under the parents authority-wise. Everyone has their respective God-given role and it is good. :]
