Is a virtue when it's guided by integrity and balance. It only becomes a trap when it costs us our peace, values, or the people we love

ambition is drive. it's neither good nor bad inherently, it depends entirely on how it's expressed... and restrained.

It definitely is a virtue. A life without ambition isn't one worth chasing. However, we must remember to take breaks, once in a while, so as to not crash and burn (and subsequently feel trapped).

Ambition is a good engine, but a bad driver. It can propel you very far, but if it directs all your decisions without limits or principles, it can lead you down a path you may later regret.

It's virtue when you don't exaggerate, but if you're too ambitious it becomes a trap. It's fine to get the most out of everything, but with the right limits.

It depends on what it is, although uncontrolled ambition only ultimately turns into greed or gluttony, but if it is sometimes it can be good, like for work, you have to know what to accept and what to try to achieve.

It depends on how ambition is experienced. If in a balanced way, it is a virtue. But if it becomes a benchmark or a way to be hard on oneself, it is definitely a trap.

It's both. It can be a virtue if it will makes you motivated to do the right thing. It's a trap when it leads you to the wrong path causing you to sacrifice your morals and integrity. (edited)

Depends on the goal. Are you ambitious to outsource your worth? Or using it to accomplish something you really want?

If you are in a healthy shape, then it is a virtue because: it helps set goals, motivates development, makes you more persistent, gives you confidence when you achieve what you want. However, it can become a trap if: nothing is ever enough, you constantly compare yourself to others, you sacrifice your health or your relationships for success, you feel that you only matter if you always achieve more.

If ambition clouds your values or causes upset to others then its no longer a virtue. It is then a selfish desire that should cause you to self reflect. Is it worth it?
