Posted a story meant just for him. Romantic, simple, about upcoming plans. Got more 200 views. Not one was his. And no message of mine was read. Not that day, not the next, not the upcoming week. Fun or sad fact, I received a huge text two weeks after...telling me that all our future plans and trips should be cancelled and its final decision, no explanation or anything.

I don't know that it is exactly cringe, but one time me and my former best friend (now estranged) were eating sushi together. She was super depressed over something insignificant and in an attempt to cheer her up, I ate a ball of (American) wasabi... about a quarter in diameter... My tears turned green and it burned for 30 minutes... But I did get the giggles I was aiming for. Haven't been her friend for 13-14 years. (edited)

Why do so many people apparently even fake things. Reading through all the comments is a real shock. Please.. work on self confidence and self confidence implies not having to put on an act for anyone. You're worthy as you are and who doesn't like you, just doesn't, whatever. Not everyone will like you. You shouldn't want everyone to like you, because it's impossible and therefore a lost cause. Really.. get to know yourself and stay true to that.

Pretended to like partying so he didn't find me boring. I'd play loud music in my room and yell, "Hey baaaabe! I'm in the club! I'll call you later!" Then I'd go watch the news with my aunt and uncle while eating a little treat. Over a decade later and we divorced because he likes to party and I don't. It's never a good idea to pretend to be something you aren't. Eventually he found out that I was a homebody who likes baking and creating cozy vibes.

At a football game in highschool I thought I'd be "cute" and start bleacher hopping in front of him and our friends (it had also just rained so they were wet) because I don't know, agility skills? Well, I slipped and fell all the way down in front of everyone at the final game of the season and needed to be carried off to the ER. I wanted to dissolve into the gurney and disappear forever. Oh, and turns out he thought he was in love with my mom. 🫠

I wanted to take the initiative to ask my crush out on a low key date. We were alone walking around late one evening just chilling and talking as friends do. I asked him if he felt like dessert like an ice cream or something. He said sure. We happened to be walking past a shop I'd never seen before called "Peaches and Cream". I said to him that looks like a nice dessert place, let's go in there. He said, "No". There was a long silence while we kept walking, me feeling dejected. Then he said, "Are you aware that Peaches and Cream is a sex shop?" I was horrified, embarrassed, ashamed and talked way too much about how I didn't know and that it was logically a dessert sounding shop name. After another 10min or so of walking and me over compensating, he said, "I'm going to head back to my friends now." He walked away and I didn't see him or hear from him again until I bumped into him years later... 😑

I can’t think of any. I’m just pretty straightforward and If we’re not on the same page I move on. That being said, once I’m being led on, I usually beg them to stay or say something once I get ghosted, writing walls of texts thinking that it would get me closer to them. 😂that’s sad pathetic and cringe
