1Both are bad but the movie one, at least the pilots responsible for a landing can hear you. In a cinema the producers or anyone associated with the film can’t even hear that appreciation. That’s the only correct answer, topic concluded.

5Hi Sarita, hope you had a good Christmas! Now, on to your question... Until a few years ago, I did not even know that "clapping" in a plane was a thing. I tend to clap at the end of movies essentially as a habit, as I clap at the end of all shows, even - perhaps strangely - when a video ends on Youtube, or a documentary on TV. Quirks, I guess!
