I don't accept requests from anyone without a bio or from ones whose bio says "just ask". I was wondering what other people's opinions were on profile bios and if they play a part in what requests are accepted and/or who you send requests to. I get a feeling bios are something that is often missed because I receive requests from people who are clearly looking for a relationship when I've specified all I'm looking for are friends. 🤷🏻‍♀️ What are your thoughts on profile bios and are they important to you?

Profile bios are really important and I read them everytime. There is often good information there that indicates you should avoid someone. Being male though, I don't have the luxury of ignoring empty bios. Women filling out bios is not a common thing, and with the dating pool so massively imbalanced as a male you have to lower your standards by a lot. Typically if I start messaging with someone who has no bio, I consider it rolling the dice.

Very important. For me, it's like your first encounter with someone. Irl, if you meet someone and don't even bother to introduce yourself, it's pretty rude. Same applies here. Be polite, write atleast a couple of things about you and then rest can be a conversation.
