Dating anxiety

Question

Lately it's been harder for me to meet new people mainly because I get stressed just thinking that I have to keep up a conversation with a practical stranger. I want to meet people, but sometimes just the mere fact of talking to them makes me anxious. The times I've sort of gotten to know people through dating apps, I never actually find it in me to 'meet up' when they ask. I think half the reason behind it might be that I don't believe people nowadays want to meet up for anything other than getting close to you just for sex. As a possible ace, it just really upsets me. In the end, it discourages me altogether from actually trying to meet new people and putting an effort.

I use this sometimes because I have a nasty case of the rejection yips. In my head I am always a bother and, I am just wasting my time asking woman I find attractive out.

I watch this clip and, it helps me understand all it takes is one time for them to say yes to make all the no's worth it.

It is a little different for you as it is also a safety question. However, if you are connecting with someone and you can trust them maybe all you need is this 20 seconds...it could be the beginning of the rest of your life 💙

Yes relax your putting to much pressure on yourself. Get to know people properly before meeting them get comfortable talking to then via messages then step up to talking on the phone for a minute. Then the next time 2 mins. Before you know it youll be talking on the phone all night.
Then you can move to video calls. Then you will have no problem meeting itll feel like you already have.
If hes the right guy for you he will be patient if not someone else will.

You should just chat, not let anyone push you past your boundaries. You might eventually meet someone nice, who knows. It's more likely than winning the lottery anyway. If they actually like you they'll respect your choice and not rush you.

As someone who is possibly ace as well plus doesn't care about dating, I'm suspect to say anything but...first things first: I hope you're okay with yourself, that things might go in a slow pace compared to others and It's totally fine, this part of knowing and accepting yourself is really important. You absolutely do not need to meet someone if you're not comfortable. Dating takes time, and is better if you're not just strangers looking for something. Take your time to know the other one naturally, like when you make friends randomly at school :) I know It's hard to find this kind of relationship in these dating apps, It's just like what you said, but try to not stress out since this isn't something you NEED, so you don't need to be so heavy :)
