Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope the week is treating you all kindly! I just wanted to write a little something that’s been on my mind. It’s not meant to make anyone feel less or sad; it’s simply a reflection from within me that came to mind when I woke up. I want you to know I respect, appreciate and admire you all, you have given me nothing but peace, kindness respect through this environment and I am forever thankful to feel so safe to come here comfortable enough to express how I feel so openly. This writing is called Another Day Holidays just don’t feel the same, and nor do birthdays. It seems the older I get none of the fun times matter like they used to. I find myself eating alone more and more as the years pass by, and birthdays, who wants to celebrate or have a cake when the candles become a reason to feel like crying? No making wishes anymore. Life is full of change and things passing by, it’s just the way of life itself, to me my life lately has felt more like an old book I’ve only read half the pages of and it’s been sitting on a shelf collecting more dust and mould than being read and admired and taken from the dark bookshelf. Life hasn’t been the brightest, nor kindest, nor easiest to understand. Most times I find myself staring down at my hands watching all the lines get more defined with each day, night passing, or the old ticking clock my Nana passed down to my Mother , that sits on the wall waiting to be passed to a grandchild. Time is the value of all things they say, but it feels like time is either running too slow, or running too fast. Time was something I feared, now I just wait, wishing, waiting for it to pass as fast as the waves crash into a mad sea, like the one inside my mind. The never-ending battle of the storm and mad tides. Life is like a rocking boat, fighting the current of life, never calm, always moving, always sailing through the battles that come to pass you by. It seems the only things passing me by are strangers I once called friends, loved ones who are now no other than a stranger once again. The ones I want to be here today can’t, the one person I dreamt about since I was a child doesn’t want anything to do with me! Isn’t it funny? Or is it just sad? The story of life is just mangled and twisted, mind you there is some beauty within it, but it’s very little, it does appear, you just need to look in the right place or else it vanishes in thin air. The happy moments the ones we never want to leave. They have been here a few times for me. You know the moment when you're walking and the air pleasantly hits your face, or the birds chirp in a melody, it’s almost like it was made only for you that day! The way the trees sway from side to side, almost as if they are looking at you, admiring your stride, that alone could make anyone smile! It’s the little things that bring us joy, but the joy is hidden beneath all the things we left behind. The things that made us young, feel on top of the world, the wonder, the desires, the dreamer inside of us all, all disappeared because what?! Time was running too fast?! Haven’t we all just thought to ourselves that maybe, just maybe time was afraid of us, after so many years trying to teach us a lesson to be patient for it itself, time, time has tried to teach us to be kinder, to embrace all the good things that came, before the good things were nothing but the dusty books, CDS, game cubes, dolls, cars, mighty beans, legos, stuffys on our shelf’s! I don’t know about you, but all those things brought me utter peace, it’s crazy how something so small can unlock the happiness inside me! Yet, here I am worried about the next bill, the next funeral, the next doctors appointment with the bad news, the day my Mother will need more care, the day I fear the worst days of all, the day I become grey, fragile, all the worries in the world and yet we have so much time to not worry, it eats us alive till we forget we have time after all! All we fear is time running out, yet we run away from the time we should be grateful for, the people in our lives who mean so much to us, the loved ones who are still here, the sunshine that brings us warmth, even the rainy days that help the grass, flowers, the crops we eat, the same ones that the rain helped to grow. There’s so much we can be thankful for, place more focus on, but we all think time is a ticking bomb, set out to make life a living hell. When really it’s not! What if time was only a reminder to not take it for granted, to spend life wisely instead, not think so hard on what has, hasn’t happened yet. Just to simply do what it is we want to happen, with all good intent, moderation applied. I think if we all started to live life based on making life more kind, worth while, we wouldn’t be so mad at life, let alone, time. Time is not the enemy, we became the bad guys as life just played its natural course of life. (edited)
