Do you think people can genuinely build a meaningful connection after meeting through a dating app and make a long distance relationship work in today’s world? Or does distance eventually make it too difficult?

What distance are you talking about? There are people who need to see each other every day after a while, but for others, seeing each other occasionally on a weekend is enough and it's even quite good. In my opinion (sorry, it's cliché) it depends on the people ;)

Some can and people can’t. It really depends on the people involved. Communication is very very important talking to each other daily regularly. You get to know a person well by talking with them . Whereas in a person  close. You meet talk go out what few times or months  if there is no communication or one person is pushing for more 
It can or depends on them . 
I can say honestly LDR for me was the best we talked for many months  met in person  and following year were together .

For me even for matching my energy with men here is so difficult, so I don't think about long distance relationship moreover as indonesian much culture different with many other countries, so yeah... It's depend on the couple I think.
