I am just learning about demiromantic and demisexual and I wish I knew about the terms at a younger age. I never felt anything for someone that I didn't know really well. It just seemed more practical to me than being attracted to someone because they're shiny. New things often are, but what happens when the shine wears off. At this point in my life friendship is my pursuit and I find it a far more fulfilling one than romance ever was. I realize that puts me in the minority, but it's just who I am. I made the mistake in the past of letting the lines of friendship and romance get blurred. On a couple of occasions it lead to the end of the friendship. Those occasions are some of my only regrets in life. I don't think it's weird at all to not want to risk that on a roll of the dice. I think it's brilliant. ☺️
