I definitely feel you. I'm quite reserved until I feel I have something meaningful to say or add to the conversation. It depends on the partner. Silence makes some people uncomfortable because it makes them have to deal with their own thoughts and feelings. People could learn a lot more if sometimes, they just listen. Just try to avoid using single word replies like "right", or "yeah". (edited)
