Manipulate them back make them believe they are manipulating me 💯 and laugh my ass when I got them good. Kkkk This is so satisfying and becomes my inside joke everytime I remember their reaction 😭

I think one thing is to realize the specific ways they're manipulating you and think of ways to guard yourself. So for example if they try to get you to do things you don't want, you can practice in your head that you'll say "No, thank you, but I don't want to do that" and if they say "If you loved me you'd do it" and you day "I love you but I'm saying no. I feel like you're trying to force me to do what you want." Anyways, maybe that's not applicable at all, but just imagining the conversation of what you'll say and they say, can help you protect yourself. And remember that you can be a nice person and still say no to things. You can love someone and not do everything they want. If they're holding things over your head, sometimes you need to call their bluff and just let them follow through on the threat or not. But sometimes you need to reduce someone's presence in your life if they're mistreating you. Anyways, I don't know if any of that is relevant but I thought I'd share. There is a YouTube channel called Theremin Trees with really helpful videos about dealing with manipulative family.
