My best friend and I have known each other 10 years after being set up on a blind date. We've dated a couple times over the years, but he always ends up choosing someone else. You'd think I'd learn. Well last year he spent 10 months in jail and I was the only one who didn't turn my back on him. When he got out things were different. We talked all day every day, saw each other every night. We had many talks about wanting to be together, but I was married. Well in May some stuff happened and my husband and I separated. My best friend was there for me and without realizing it he'd moved in. After a couple months I was being forced to move out of my house, so he and I got a place together as a rent to own. Things were great. We talked and though weren't putting the title relationship on it, we both agreed to be only with each other. I've been stressed lately, between my kids, not working, and tbh making sure things stayed good between us. All this time hes been saying we are building a life together, I'm only his, im not going anywhere, etc. Well last week he went out to see his friend and I had a gut feeling he was lying. I called him out on it, and I was right. He was with another woman. Told me he was falling in love with her, she makes him happy, and went so far as to say she's me just without kids and that's what makes her perfect. Said he hasn't felt the spark in a while, etc. Even though the night before he told me he planned to marry me someday and that im his no one else's. He said she knew about me, though apparently he referred to me as a situationship (🖕🏼) Here's the kicker, he met this woman 3 days before they hung out. Now he does this thing where he becomes obsessive with a new woman occasionally. Everytime though over the last 10 years, im the one who he comes back to. And let me tell you, I'm fully aware of how desperate and pathetic and insane all this sounds because the red flags are choking me. But I love him and have been in love with him for years. We are still sleeping in the same bed, and yesterday we had sex. Idk what I expect from this post, but I can't keep everything bottled up bc im broken at this point. And hey why not share with a bunch of strangers who know nothing about me....
