I've always wanted something secure with someone, someone I could go for walks or runs with, go to the park, the movies, party with, or do schoolwork with—more than a romantic relationship, a good friendship, someone I can trust, someone I can tell what's going on with me and have tell me what they think without feeling guilty or afraid, without hiding anything, without lying about anything. I've always wanted to be with someone I can lean on when things aren't going well in my life, someone who holds me in their arms without a word, without judging me, who understands me and is understood by me, a safe haven where I can take refuge when I have nowhere else to go, someone with whom, for better or for worse, we continue to choose each other for many years. I don't know, maybe I'm asking for too much. These days, everything is jealousy, demands, infidelity, and a lack of commitment and interest; but one day, I know I'll find it.
