How do you guys handle one sided relationships?

I'm usually the initiator and often times find that I'm investing more than the other. I'm trying to figure out how to place boundaries with this and also how to communicate your needs without appearing desperate?

If you're indeed in a relationship, and find yourself being the only initiator, (while perhaps the other party doesn't seem excited most of the times you initiate).. pull back a bit, give space, put time into hobbies and - allow them a chance at initiating. It's possible that you've set up this dynamic where you're always the initiator, because you've been too quick to the call, so they never became comfortable initiating, because they didn't have a chance. And/or it's possible that they're shy/introverted, and in that case don't take them not initiating as a bad sign. Could just be their personality type. Whatever you do through this process, don't "act distant" when you're with them or chatting, be natural and familiar 👍

Good question! Use this format to effectively communicate your needs: "When you _______, I feel _______. I need to know (you) ______ & would appreciate ________." This feelings/emotion wheel is helpful when forming your "script".

If you feel uncomfortable it is a warning. Don't ignore it.
