Reality Check
Before you go judging someone’s religion or beliefs, maybe take a quick check of your own heart first. There is a difference between being bound by religion and being devoted to God. If you truly love your God, why would you feel the need to hate people of other religions/beliefs? Do you love God, or are you attached to the religion as a system of doctrine and identity? Are people sometimes more devoted to defending their interpretation of religion than to the values their faith teaches? Just a thought. (edited)

Hello. I’m not trying to find the “truth” in a fixed way. I often see religion and belief systems as things to control the masses. My point is: if someone truly loves their God, why would that turn into hatred toward people who believe differently? Is it really about love for God, or more about being attached to a belief system and identity that creates an “us vs them” mindset?

What you said is 100% true... But I have one question: if you know that some practices are wrong from a humanitarian perspective, would you speak up about them, or would you just accept them as other "religious'" practices? Would you hate the people who follow such practices even if, after repeated explaining how wrong they are, they still don't want to give them up ?

Yes, you’re right. Even religion itself is supposed to encourage accepting others and not hating anyone with different beliefs, and not forcing people to do things or act against the natural disposition God created us with. So I think people should first know their Lord, and not allow others to control them or their decisions through group pressure or emotional influence.

I completely agree with you. I have seen first hand how destructive it can be when people value their idea of God more than their pursuit of knowing God. I guess the big question is how do we lovingly and gracefully help move those who are clinging to their idea to the freedom of just loving and pursuing God?

You're assuming that people understand their religious texts. Then you're further assuming that people who understand said texts are willing to follow them. Finally, you're assuming that these religious texts are teaching love and acceptance. That's a lot of assumptions.
