I wouldn't put too much stock into that. I think anyone can feign chivalry, especially at the very beginning. Adding: I prefer real. If a guy doesn't hold doors open (among other considerate things), doesn't do any household chores, or is a mama's boy...I want to see that at the beginning so that I can run away sooner. The issue is a societal one that stems from humanity's relationship to technology and the capitalist industrialist system that has emerged through history. Chivalry was borne in medieval times as a means to influence the behavior of mercenaries, and those of noble birth who would become knights instead of functionaries, to avoid conflict as women were (back then and in many societies to this day) considered property, goods. And we know that damaged goods are not good any longer and as such become unusable for their original intended purpose, hence chivalry to ensure harmony between classes and castes. Nowadays, without the feudal system creating the necessary tension to maintain such a behavior, the slack is noticeable, but the cultural expectations remain. How so? Partly to blame is the continuous efforts of members and organs of certain societies to maintain a status quo with strong feudal tendencies because an unemancipated woman is easy to control and dispose of and the power play of the establishment can continue unfettered over the legal framework that society itself keeps perpetrating. Meanwhile the lower classes are left to deal with different harsh realities that tend to involve their feelings, self perception, systemic ignorance and lack of self esteem, and a desperate need for attention without intention to take responsibility over one's own actions. (this would probably sound a lot better if I had spent some money on the AI)

Well I’m not sure how to answer this one? Women have become so independent that they have become used to being the “boss chick” so she had to be the go getter when they guy comes along to open they door she’s puzzled. Some men (I’m talking about my friend Matt) don’t do it cause they don’t see the point in it. Or they are self conscious of what people might think. Personally I don’t care whether we are in public or alone if I care for someone or even love someone I make sure not to hide it. Chivalry is dead to a point. There are men like that, but times have also changed. Pay attention to how they behave towards others who they feel they have power over. From service staff, to homeless, to anyone outside their immediate circle. Those are clear indicators of their personality, because they gain nothing from being positive to them other than just showing they are positive. Also, times change. What is chivalrous can change, just as we expect people now to be more tolerant and understanding. Find someone who communicates the same way (read up on love languages for example) and it may be easier. There are good people in this world.
