How important is it to talk every day in a relationship?

Is it weird to want to call or at least text back and forth in a relationship? Even if we just talk for 30 mins each day, it makes me feel closer to that person. It also makes me feel supported and can be a huge pick me up each day. The longer the relationship goes on, the more I would look forward to our daily chats. But, some men think this is annoying or too much. Why? What is the point of having a partner if you can't even talk to that person every now and then?
