Don’t assume that all ppl are ignoring you when they don’t want to engage. Sometimes they have a lot going on and to try to focus on a conversation and put energy into one more thing, is exhausting. I can be like that sometimes and it doesn’t help that I am an introvert on top of that. Also remember that everyone you meet is not your person/your people. Reassess your expectations when you’re out in public or hanging out around others - family/friends. Some folks think that I am mean bc I am unapologetically me. I will not engage with someone bc society says everyone has to be “jolly, always on ON, energetic, cheery, and if you’re not, you’re lame” all the time. Protect your peace and mental well-being. Let me say it again - protect your peace and mental well-being. Don’t change who you are, authentically, to satisfy what society says is the norm. The first step to doing that is approach every situation with “I’ll be okay however this goes.” Put it into practice now bc you’re young. I didn’t start being unapologetically me until I was in my late 30s/early 40s. It - trying to be accepted by and liked by most ppl - cost me a bit of heartache in my younger years. When I figured out that it’s good (and most importantly, okay) to just be me, I am way better now. The key takeaway - be you and don’t apologize for it. Best Zian. 😊
