What’s the thing with todays dating

I'm a family first kind of guy and by that i mean I want my kids to be the most important thing in my next relationship. I wasn't for a long time, but I've realized that having that mutual goal that both partners can put before themselves is important. I also want the traditional nuclear family because it gives the children the greatest odds of success. Thats my idea of old school love.

Well at the age of 32 I now want to find someone to commit to, hopefully for good. My longest relationship was 10 years, and I'm glad that our culture didn't expect us to stay together despite being unhappy. In the past, women couldn't break up (or divorce) because they were financially dependent on (or literally owned by) their husbands. And husbands were afraid of God, and/or social stigma. I think it's mostly about who you pursue, if they share your desires or not. You won't be able to change a person, so you need to figure out what their goals are into the future. Also it might be different for people who live in big cities / densely populated areas. Where I live, hooking up isn't as easy, I'd have to drive for an hour or so to hook up and even then the selection is limited, especially of my type. I've never had a problem with girls not wanting to commit, those are the only girls I'm interested in. I've never been with any girl who "hooks up" or goes on so called dates either. We usually get to know eachother online, and by the time we meet we have such a strong bond that we already love eachother. Because I don't care about distance, which is a tiny obstacle to overcome compared to finding someone who's a great match. (edited)
