AI in dating?
I didn't realise how deeply embedded AI was into this app. I'm seeing all these options for "neurons", which appears to be a way for AI to continue/interpret conversations "for" you? I'm not sure how to feel about that. I understand that social anxiety is a thing, and sometimes there's an immense pressure on platforms to appear "interesting" and "witty" in all your interactions, but this is meant to be a means for actual humans to get to know each other. What happens when people meet face to face and there's no ai to facilitate the conversation? Those are just my thoughts, though. I'd be interested in knowing what others feel about it, especially those who've tried it. I'm not opposed to it, just a bit sceptical about it.

Imagine having to resort to an AI to be able to engage in conversation with a stranger online, it's ridiculous and sad.

Like in all things, AI is a good starting point to learn how to phrase your speech and understand which things to talk about. But beyond that, you have to invest time and efforts yourself. Otherwise, as you say, it is utterly counterproductive in building a friendship/relationship with someone.

Sadly, AI has taken over everything. You see it in education, job replies, interviews, and other aspects of life. We still should respect people with social anxiety who are trying to communicate. Not everyone has had the same life you and I have or have had.

I'd say people's high standards is making people resort to these kinds of measures. Not enough humbling is done.

I have not used AI myself, but as someone who can easily spiral onto overthinking, having AI come up with suggestions for topics sounds good to me...

As someone who's also an AI skeptic, I think it's just a trend. Similar to crypto - I'm sure there's a Venn diagram somewhere between rampant AI advocates and people thinking crypto could solve world hunger. It removes a lot of personality from interactions which is harmless, but just so boring and lazy. Like AI art, it can never have a feeling behind the words you use. Just realising that LLMs are trained on other people's words, not mine, means it's so obvious they never actually sound like me.

I think we will degrade as an intelligent species if we rely to heavily on it, but AI is good for practicing social skills, learning to be more articulate, and can help build confidence. The flip side is when you let it do all the thinking and talking for you. The other person would be better off dating the AI.

Idk about AI in dating apps, but role-playing with it improves the talking skills. While person reads AI replies they learn how to beautifully describe things, how to joke and so on. But if one's aim is irl dating, they should talk for temselves, without ai help, 'cause otherwise it's like wearing a mask that will break after meeting the real life, bringing a lot of disappointment for both sides....imho.

Personally as someone who finds it easier to talk to someone once there's been some communication I think AI is great for this, especially if you're like me and can't articulate the fire pick up line in your head. I definitely see the dangers of it, but I think it's harmless. People today get really antagonistic about AI to which I don't know why. It's tech, tech is always weird. Look at the concept of a smart phone.

Did you know?
There are about 200 million sperm cells in one ejaculate but only about 100 make it to the egg. So a man with less then 20 million sperm cells per mililiter cant impregnate a woman the normal way because the sperm cells dont make it through to the egg. (edited)

Additive and subtractive color mixing.
