This line from NGE had always stuck with me. Other people can only understand you to the extent of you understanding yourself, and even then every person's journey remains fully unique and individual to them. In the end, you truly only have yourself. You're the one who has to hold yourself together, carry yourself through heartaches, and pick yourself back up. So do be kinder to yourself.

I couldn't agree more! That's a lesson my mother instilled in me growing up that only you know the real you. People can only perceive so much about you and can make bad judgment calls regarding your character. To add on to that don't ever let people tear down who you are (unless your unhealthy or destructive lol).
