Impatient people...
I see a ton of posts about how people don't reply fast enough, or don't have time to talk, and how it's a major turn-off or whatever, so that got me thinking. I know I'm older than many here, but what would you people have done back in the day when you either left a message on an answering machine and waited for a call back, or when you actually had to send real letters thru the mail?! Technology is ruining us in many ways, but this one just really makes me laugh. Can you not understand that we each have our own lives, and can't always stay glued to our phones 24/7 to reply as fast as you sent a message?! This is why I love my life. I don't generally have to deal with people, just nature. I can reply if and when I want, and I don't sit here holding a phone waiting for some quick response. Besides, texting doesn't build a relationship no matter how much you want it to. Being around someone, truly learning that person, THAT is what builds. So instead of living on your phone, go meet that person, go for a walk, get a cup of coffee, do something! Just don't sit there ranting to strangers over how someone took too long to reply. You'll miss too much life if you're tethered to technology

Well, reply fast it might have different meanings to different people, maybe waiting 6 days for an answer is not a thing for all. I also wrote letters, but I also understand that if I take too long to answer it might be bad for the other side, so we should warn them or put in our profiles, so people know what to expect.

6 days, yes...that's excessive. But I've literally seen people on here freaking out about 6 hours! Like OMG, sorry my body shut off and went to sleep without notice. My bad 😂

@Chad yes because we have people from different timezones 6/8 hours might be normal. And we don't know how people deal with anxiety, but here is a good place to learn about ourselves and other people and find how filters what is a good match or not

ikr. i be trying so hard to keep up messaging ppl, then work gets busy or something comes up and im not back on the app til the next day, and the conversation stops after my reply :/ kinda annoying and not worth if i cant be away from my phone for several hours, without it causing ppl to ghost. instant communication wasnt always a thing!

My point exactly. They claim we can't give them the attention they deserve. More like they can't give us the respect we need, out here working, raising kids, dealing with family matters, or whatever else it is that we HAVE to do that keeps us from our phones. Or in my case, I spend a LOT of time out in nature. So I may be away from cell service for a day or two. I always try to give a heads-up about it, but they still don't care

Facts lol Everybody is glued with technology not the old tradition where you have to take time to see people whom close to you and talk over a cup of coffee or spend lunch with or spend time over set of a board game. Now a days people tend to spend time in front of a screen imagining things rather than taking a walk spend it with love ones or just walk with nature... Pro and cons of modernity Sad reality

This has serious old man shouts at cloud energy. But I appreciate the irony of writing those sentences on your phone.

This! I don’t understand the new generation. Always glued to the phone.. Cellphones became more important then interaction in real time with people. Always sitting with their phones in their hands when visiting, going out on dinners etc. It is like they are more in a relationship or on a date with their phone then with a men or woman.. I I’m a bit older then you and definitely miss those days. Back then the computer we had, worked on dos system. Windows 95 was fun (99 years remaining timing for downloading 🤣). Just home phones. Later on we did get cellphones,no smartphones, but ‘normal cellphones like Nokia 3210..(loved playing snake on it). No matter how much you dropped it, it doesn’t break apart and kept working. Just recently I ditched my home phone. But I rarely take my phone with me to work or whatever.. this year it is the first time that my phone holds a valid card (used only WiFi in the past).
