1yso tired of being ghosted!
what is it with men in this generation?! if you’re not interested SAY SO! why start a conversation with someone only to completely ignore them down the line? ugh. this absolutely cannot be the same species that used to write letters from the war to the women they loved, now it’s a damn hassle just to get a text back. 🙄

Are you talking about on the app or outside the app? I have the same thing happen to me with women I talk to on the app all the time. Not one has kept the conversation going and stop messaging. It’s just the way of things on apps, from both genders. In real life it depends, but it’s just easier for people to ghost someone to avoid confrontation, and hope they don’t run into them. This is also something that both genders do equally.

I understand your frustration. Lack of communication and sincerity can be frustrating, and it seems that many have lost interest in genuine dealings.

There is, unfortunately, a "you problem" built into your complaint. And I don't mean that it's just you, it's anyone who questions why something would be started without intention to hold on forever. Consider: why start a career path unless you're going to retire from it? Why start a hobby if you're later going to lose interest? Why get a pet when it's eventually going to expire? We start things because of interest. If interest isn't maintained, it doesn't invalidated the attempt. The journey is the adventure before the destination. The destination is just the place from where you decide the next journey and is always negotiable. Just because you start a road trip to Vegas doesn't mean you can't decide to switch to Seattle mid-trip. And why, if you think that's best for you, wouldn't you change your itinerary? Do what's best for you, and expect others to do the same. Enjoy that time spent together while your journeys align. And otherwise, yes, I agree that lack of communication about a parting of ways is disappointing. Maybe try to focus on the next possible intersection that may seem just as abrupt...

It could be any number of things. From my perspective, if I don't feel that connection or I find the person abrasive, I will discontinue the conversation. Also, if the person immediately starts complaining about their lives or is negative in the first couple replies, I am out. We all have negative feelings. Maybe wait until you have built an emotional bank account before you dump that negativity on others. Or if I found out the woman was making posts like this. Where they lump all men together, ask for opinions, and then act superior to the people offering their prospective... I am out. I want a partner that aids me in creating a peaceful and fun life not one that brings negative chaos. Seek first to understand and then to be understood.

Not sure it is about gender. The problem is more the amount of profiles fed everyday. This creates an abundance mindset: if someone doesn't interest you or if you get a bad feeling after some discussion, it is then easy to move on to the next people because you have plenty of other people to reach out to.

Women do it all the time too. Either they never react to initial messages or they stop responding in a conversation or type 'stop-the-conversation' messages like 'yes', 'yes, that's good' after you've made an attempt to engage and start a conversation – even when they initiated the contact. It just tells you there is no interest. It's no use blaming one sex or the other. It's just how things are. As others have mentioned, it's very difficult to get any 'spark' out of text messages; it's not how we were intended to meet people. Men also have to be careful not to be seen to insist so they are not blamed for unwanted attention or seeking too personal information too quickly. Then there are those who claim in their profile that they speak a language they don't. I only see it when women do it, but it's probably the same for men. If someone lies from the start, how is it going to be later? Or those who can't be bothered to read your profile before contacting, so they didn't realise there was no common language. It's easy to get discouraged on these platforms.

It’s just what people do I get ghosted very often. At this point I don’t really care, people are busy and they’re just not interested.

Honestly, that's fully understandable, and goes both ways. I've been ghosted by both men and women, but it also depends on how the conversation is going, right? If you're carrying it all and putting all that effort in, and they won't, it definitely hurts, and again, it could be on either end. Honestly I agree that people should learn to just simply say, "I'd like to end our conversations/whatever else here"

Ghosting is projecting their own issues, it says about their personality (or lack of there of) than about you, period.

It's not just guys, women do it too.
