Love to Act/Perform

Question

I just got into theater last September in my school's fall play, and ended up doing the Musical in that winter as Pepper from Mamma Mia. Now after graduating, I'm looking at other opportunities to perform, and have my eyes on my town's community theater.

Anyone want to share their theater stories?

I've worked in theater on and off for the past few years.  I'm really sick of it, not because I don't like drama or the performing arts, but because I happen to be surrounded by the worst people.  The director acts like a toddler, the stage crew are mostly violent misogynists, the actors and actresses have no respect for anyone but themselves, and no one ever wants to help with the stage nor does anyone treat the props gently, which forces us to repair them after every other practice sometimes.

It's just a bad group.  I gave up on them this year.

I started theater two years ago when my local one was doing A Wrinkle in Time. I was terrified, but I auditioned and landed the role of Mrs Who. I’ve done a few other plays since then and it has been one of my most favorite things to do. Theater is amazing!
