Denial of opportunity to learn

Back in university, I got really into a local pro baseball team (Yokohama Baystars) and wanted to support them. Coming from a country with zero baseball culture, I knew basically nothing. I asked a friend who seemed to know the sport for some basic info. He gave me this clear “this is such a hassle” attitude, like explaining anything to a total beginner was beneath him. He brushed me off condescendingly. That moment stuck with me. I still remember how it felt to be dismissed just for starting from zero. Because of it, I promised myself: I will never treat anyone asking to learn from scratch that way. No matter how simple the question, I’ll give them the patience I didn’t get. Anyone want to learn something from absolute beginner level? Ask away. I’ve got you. no “too much trouble” vibe here, provided I have knowledge about the question being asked of course.
