I'm a littleconfused by the post overall. I feellike I agree with the statement your friend made. Yet, the rest of the post seems to be in opposition of it, but also not about it at the same time; because I didn't interpret the sentence to mean "that if one does not follow your advice, then one obviously doesn't value you, and is thus not your friend", however the post seems to suggest that is how it was intended.
So. I agree with the direct sentence of your friend, but not the interpretation the post seems to have for it. I also agree with your post: that just bc a friend doesn't take your advice does not mean your advice is worthless to them.
Thanks for sharing, and I hopeothers can learn to set their ego aside and realize that friends are supportive, not controlling or vindictive. ☺️☺️

Someone once told me, "if your friend cannot respect your decision and made you question yourself, he/she is not your friend to begin with" And it hit me--That all this time, their words has a great impact on my decisions before. I don't want to create discomfort even if I'm not comfortable myself. That if I were on their shoes, I won't do or say same as they do. I always respect everyone's reaction to every situation because, that is how it should be. One might say things out of concern and with purest intention, but at the end of the day, it's their life. They make the call. If they didn't take your advice, it is up to them. But that doesn't mean that they don't care about your opinion. It's just different from them. and if in case they fail while pursuing what they thought was right, don't judge them for not listening to you. Just be there for them. That I think is how a true friend is.
