people with bios that say "i'm not gonna write anything here, message me if you want to know anything" is wild to me. you downloaded the app for companionship, you know what this is! you're in the pool of people who find it hard to strike up random conversation in person, just to put y'all in the same situation but virtually? 100% of the burden on others to break the ice, and you can't give em a pickaxe? a fork?? 😂 "i don't know myself" at best, and "i can't be bothered to put effort into the things i want" at worst. or the classic "another app to get ignored on 🙄" ya damn right, debbie downer. that's called a self-fulfilling prophecy 👌🏻 put out what you want to get back.

Well said. Dating apps are difficult for all of us for different reasons, it shows good faith and is very nice if you do a minimum effort and help others strike up a conversation, at least, and also I wish us humans were just nice to one another, also when sending and replying to messages. One of my least favorite things is writing a bio. It's not because I'm lazy, it's because I don't know how to describe myself. When you're self-conscious and are asked to talk about yourself, it's a nightmare. From your own perspective everything you do feels mundane and worthless and you don't want burden somebody else with it. I totally understand why self-conscious people don't like to write bios. I usually get someone who I know well to write one for me but I honestly haven't even told my friends I'm trying to get back into dating so it remains empty until then.
