Being the eldest is so tiring.
I don't know, but I feel like everything I do is not enough for me. I think of being too "family-oriented" is so exhausted sometimes. It's good cause we have family to rely on. But most of the time they expect you to help in everything. I, too, want to have an independent life. I've been trying to be better and fight in this world. I wish they will understand me too and give me some air to breathe.

I can only imagine the psychology that is behind being the eldest; I don't envy the position. But, could it be that it's not necessarily being the eldest but the inability to claim that space and time needed? I know there could be all kinds of technicalities and circumstances that may force ones hand but if its just you're mind tricking you into feeling like you have to (opppose to threat of being put out or ostricized from your family, maybe it's from a lack of, how they say: backbone/spine?

Sadly, no... They won't. I am also one. And I call myself their 'Red carpet' ; valuable, but still used as a carpet. I'm not sure if I should tell you this, because it's your family. But since you are the eldest and posting this, I know you know. You were born alone. To stand alone. And do stuff alone. Since I never got that understanding, I make sure I understand my younger siblings. I've given up many things because I was the eldest and the most understanding one, doing yes sir every time. But only I know what epmtyness has this thing left in my heart. I'm 27 and can't make decisions, can't take my stand, can't speak up for myself and I'm lost. I didnt want my siblings to be like this, so I always stood and do stand for them, that's the only thing I can do. As someone younger than me, I hope you start learning to take your stand, speak up, say no and do what you like. They will not like it, because they will be used to you saying yes sir, but you have to of you want to live,and not just exist. There's still time, take your stand, even if they get upset, it doesn't mean they are getting hurt, trust me. A big hug to you. 🤗🤗🤗 It's ok to live for your self.
