It's a child of the '90s, I didn't even understand the concept of cracking an egg. But I will say this when I was in kindergarten and first grade I did understand that I wasn't like the other boys in class. Growing up with no exposure to any other trans people or trans people in media other than being a punchline, like at the end of Ace Ventura, I just thought I was broken. But yeah, at a very early age I understood that there was a disconnect with my being and the outside body. I would say probably by 5 or 6 I knew this. And that's why I always laugh when I see people say that trans children are a new thing, they're not new it's just easier for kids now to understand that they're not cisgender.
