How do you integrate in the US better?
I'm a ukrainian refugee who successfully avoided the conflict that recently arose there. Luckily, I left Ukraine just 1 week prior to the war advancement on a tourist visa. I do know english to a decent level and I'm a recent graduate in Classical Music - Guitar from the Russian state University. I'm having a hard time getting to know people as I don't normally approach people out of the blue. Shoot me an advice and maybe a PM! 🇺🇦❤️

It's normal here for people to just approach others to make friends. But you do need some tact. If you're out at a bar you can go up to a group and say "hey, I just wanted to be social and say hi, mind if I join you?" Some people may think it's weird and say no, and some people will say sure no problem. You could also look at an app called "meetup" where there's groups that post social events related to certain interests in your area.

That's solid advice, many thanks. Will try to cultivate being outgoing.

@Viktor Yeah unfortunately people won't really bring themselves into your life, you have to be the one to do it.

+1 to Meetup. It’s a great resource because you can find groups that match your interests, so when you show up there’s a little less awkwardness since everyone is there for the same reason.

I see you're here in the Centennial State... Welcome! Слава Украïнi! If you have a job, that can be a good way to meet people. Hiking and going to brewpubs are both popular things I like doing here. I'm pretty busy with work these days, but I can try to make time to buy you a beer. If you're interested, shoot me a DM.

Hey bro, many thanks, I really appreciate that. Currently in Boulder, street performing. Would love to catch a beer.
