Is it just that many women want another platform to catch praise? Or is it that being a single dad (successfully) is a crime punishable by exile? This may seem like bashing but allow me to assure you, it's not. I have read 4 "guys do this or that" posts. But in reality, it's both. I know I'm not drop dead gorgeous, I don't have a 6 pack, and im no millionaire. I do however have a 401k, a career, and a strong body from years of work, all the while being a single father. Im more loyal than a german shepard, i protect my people like a automated turret, i listen like a recorder. Im mostly just curious what the hell is wrong with the dating scene today? Or maybe it's just me. This is not meant to offend, this is strictly an interrogative point of view, that I would like some input on. I'll take it as criticism, I can always improve, maybe this will open my eyes.

All connection becomes more difficult when trust is scarce, & we're living in some pretty untrusting times. That being said, the reasons for lack of societal trust mirrors the reasons for lack of individual trust. I could walk you through some of it, but blaming women for your loneliness demonstrates a lack of self-awareness (would you desire someone chucking blame at you before you even start dating?), so IDK if you'd really be open to it or if you're just looking for some validation on how hard it is to find connection these days.

Hey, I understand your confusion. The dating scene nowadays is really confusing. Regarding the point that women want a platform to get compliments, I think everyone is eager to be recognized, which is quite normal. As for the issue of being a single father, I don't think it's a sin. You have your own merits, like the 401(k), a career, a strong body, and qualities such as loyalty, all of which are very valuable. Maybe you just haven't met the right person yet. Don't worry too much. Keep a positive attitude and believe that the right person will show up.
