Any tips for a new player?

I've been playing Valo for like almost a week now and I still feel pretty lost, all of my friends who try play with me are hundreds of levels and been playing for years try to help but they just get me confused, so if you have any tips on like what agents are nooby friendly or what guns to use in what scenario. I've been playing alot of gekko and sage and I like gekko alot but I would like to try other agents but I don't want to feed and get flamed, so any help is appreciated 💖 (I play in NA and my ign is sundaeSUX)
