Never ignore your thoughts or feelings. All that will do is make things worse. When we ignore or deny them, we reinforce them. We cannot avoid or stop our thoughts and feelings. They're natural and inevitable. They're not in our control. But up to us us how we respond to them. So, we should respond to them in a healthy manner. We can do this by acknowledging and accepting our thoughts and emotions thud means we notice their existence when they arise and we allow them to be there. When it forms to thoughts, from here we can generally disregard any unhelpful thoughts and emotions. We needn't hang on to a thought necessarily unless it be helpful. Having thoughts and emotions are normal and healthy, but the bottom line is that we must understand that we can't avoid them and must accept them In sum, the problem is not the thoughts and feelings, but our relationship to them. We don't control our thoughts and emotions, only how we respond. Remember; Acknowledge, Accept, and move on (AAM)
