This is your mini TED-talk

Today you will learn: Alpha readers help you develop your story, analyze your writing, and decide what works for which audience, among other editorial duties. Beta readers are your audience, not your readership. You give beta readers the final version of your book, and they comment on the experience of reading your book. They DO NOT NEED to go through the plot holes, grammar fixes, or create character/plot reports for you. Social media has allowed people to rob authors of their money thinking beta readers do a lot of work and alpha readers are consistently thrown under the bus. Please help improve the writing community by acknowledging this distinction and stop thinking beta readers are more necessary than your actual readership. Alpha readers help you build that readership. Please use labels correctly. Thank you.
