The Shape of a Human ending.

We are told that a human is not a mystery, not really. You can take one apart. Skin first. Then muscle. Then bone. A network of nerves threaded through meat like wiring through walls. A brain weighing little more than a loaf of bread, folded in on itself, busy firing signals across microscopic gaps. Thoughts are electricity. Memories are chemistry. Personality is pattern. Change the brain and the person changes with it. Damage a region and love can vanish. Fear can soften. God can disappear. When the signals stop, the experience stops. There is no good evidence otherwise. Death, then, is not a door. It is an ending. No watcher. No darkness. No awareness of absence. Just the quiet return of matter to systems that do not remember it. That should be enough. And yet… The universe is not finished explaining itself. We know how stars burn, but not why anything exists to burn at all. We know how matter behaves, but not why it arranges itself into things that can ask questions. We know consciousness arises from the brain, but not why experience feels like something instead of nothing. A dying star can collapse into a black hole, not erased, not preserved, but reduced to influence without visibility. Its light gone. Its gravity intact, but still something. Systems end. Their effects do not. Maybe humens are the same... (edited)
