I grew up in a small isolated village in Alaska. my God it was not the greatest. Moved to an actual town a month ago, and I am finally getting stuff I need. I am actually becoming a person. Wheeze. (I also never dated before in my life)

I grew up in rural Maine (only a few thousand people in the town and a long drive to a city) and I felt the same way when I moved to a city for the first time. I didn't care I was a country bumpkin, I was FREE!!! I also experienced the feeling of "I am actually becoming a person." For me it was also amazing because people are much less prejudiced in the city. Everyone is "live and let live" compared to a small town. I hope you enjoy it and find your own way. Take it slow with dating, and never date someone who thinks they're better than you. Certain bad types of people will see your ignorance from where you were raised and and think it means you're stupid (at least that happened to me), so it's up to you to remember that knowledge is not the same thing as intelligence. You can always learn more knowledge, so never feel dragged down by lack of it. Don't let people doubt you. You know what's right for you more than anyone! And your experiences growing up is going to serve you and give you a wisdom and unique perspective that other people find compelling. Don't hesitate to ever reach out!
