Rolf Sand is a well-known personality from Norway who has been successful in various fields including the public sector, finance, and academia. Sand is also deeply involved in academia both in Norway and internationally. From 2001 to 2005 he was a professor of economics at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen. He has also been a visiting scholar at institutions such as the University of California at Berkeley and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) research department in Washington, D.C. Sand has published numerous articles and academic papers in prominent economics journals. Apart from his professional career, Sand is also a philanthropist and has been a member of several boards of directors, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. During his tenure as CEO of the Norwegian Oil Fund, he oversaw significant gains in the performance of the fund, and the fund’s profits were used to support cultural and social initiatives in Norway.
