After five years of working in that pit, the toxicity of assuming I had friendships, how did I?

My last straw that broke me mentality was when I realized my friend Shelly for years, turned out to be the one causing all my drama at work.

Way before I ended up pregnant with the same person that my old boss literally placed on a pillow, Catherine. Now, Catherine and I did end up pregnant at the same time and I was excited to share the experience.

Until I realized Catherine was throwing me under the bus with our mutual friend Kris. Kris was young, and I thought she was kind. She showed me her true colors when I rounded the corner to find her, Catherine, Shelly and our boss Shasta talking about me. I still cant get that smirk out of my head, it was cat like...and I was their mouse. 

Shasta, she broke my heart the moment she pulled me into the office before her promotion. She started demanding I owned up talking to HR about our old boss, Clint. I kept denying it only to find out thst Shelly used me as a escape goat. 

Shasta now the manager, and Shelly the assistant. Didn't know I would be treated with lack of care. They were never my friends neither, along with Lela, and Abe. 

Abe really shocked me, I honestly thought he would have cared. He didn't, he actually joined in with them and even as a school counselor for a elementary school. I felt safe around him, and I would tell him things only to discover he told Shasta and Shelly everything. I should've known he wasn't nice wheb he stole cash rewards from our customers and handed them out to Lela and Kris. 

Who would believe me? Even if I went to HR, no one from that store would have stood up for me. Even when I thought Lela was my friend. When he would comfort me when Shasta or Catherine was mean to me. She would text Shelly while at work when Shelly was off about updates about me. I guess being paid under the table to watch Shelly's son got you in the pharmacy.

The same position I was working towards but Shasta told me I was too far along in my pregnancy to take the courses. The same pregnancy that was constantly compared to Catherine when she is 10 years younger than me. 

I struggled to get pregnant and these people that I thought cared about me nearly caused me to lose him when I was sent to the ER for being dehydrated for run ing back and forth in the summer front counter and photo. Only to know that Kris and Abe was just sitting in the stockroom talking.

Matt was my only true friend, he was ran out by Shasta due to being trans. Abe would even, as someone from the  rainbow club, join in.  Not surprised, I always felt that he wasnt one of the good soul; even though his a Sunday school teacher as well on top of being a school counselor. No, Matt was and still is good. I remember when HR was called, Shasta called my cellphone demanding I tell her who called HR. I was so scared, Matt never held it against me for not speaking my truth. I was going through the worse PPD, and Matt held me as I cried. 


How did I survive? 

I held onto that hug from Matt, even when he had to leave. Matt was my only true friend from that store. I may have had to be in the pit for years , but Matt showed me even when you are down, you don't stop.

I did, I held on tight for not only myself but for my son. My son needed me to work because we lost our benefits despite my husband losing his job. The weight came off not because of my workout plan I told my ex coworkers, but I starved.

Our foodstamps have been taken along with my son's wic and insurance. I made aure my husband and son ate while I struggled to pay my own bills. Work was cutting back on my hours due to my spinal injury from giving birth. 

(Don't get me started on the bullying and harassment Shasta and that whole team put me through over my stool. Which, it was rainbowed colored)

The way those women gossip behind my back, but I kept going. Despite the looks, the whispers, and the fake smiles. Even when I was pulled in the office with my two very "best friends" from the start  Shasta and Shelly and threw a "Mental Health" packet and in a professional way 

'We are going to fire you'

News flash, thank you Matt for helping me get enrolled into the free therapy 🥰😘

They were shocked to find out that I was already 6 weeks into my therapy. Soon, Shelly world came all crasijg down, the lies she built on me tumbled, out the door she went leaving me with Shasta and  Catherine .

Yet, I already had my foot out the door and into another job before the holidays. Your scape goat and working mule is OUT OF HERE

Dopu cinque anni di travagliu in quellu fossu, a tossicità di suppone chì avia amicizie, cumu aghju?

A mo ultima paglia chì hà rottu a mo mentalità hè stata quandu aghju realizatu chì a mo amica Shelly per anni, si hè rivelata esse quella chì causava tuttu u mo dramma à u travagliu.

Prima di chì finissi incinta cù a stessa persona chì u mo ex capu hà letteralmente messu nantu à un cuscinu, Catherine. Avà, Catherine è io avemu finitu incinta à u listessu tempu è eru eccitata di sparte l'esperienza.

Fino à chì aghju realizatu chì Catherine mi stava lanciendu sottu à u bus cù a nostra amica cumuna Kris. Kris era ghjovana, è pensava chì era gentile. Mi hà mostratu i so veri culori quandu aghju giratu l'angulu per truvà ella, Catherine, Shelly è u nostru capu Shasta chì parlavanu di mè. Ancora ùn possu scurdà quellu surrisu, era cum'è un gattu... è eru u so topu.

Shasta, hà rottu u mo core u mumentu chì mi hà tiratu in l'ufficiu prima di a so promozione. Hà cuminciatu à dumandà chì mi assumessi di parlà à HR di u nostru ex capu, Clint. Continuava à negà solu per scopre chì Shelly m'era aduprata cum'è un capru di scappu.

Shasta avà hè a direttrice, è Shelly l'assistente. Ùn sapeva micca chì sarei stata trattata senza cura. Ùn eranu mai i mo amici, mancu, inseme cù Lela è Abe.

Abe mi hà veramente scioccatu, pensava onestamente chì si sarebbe curatu. Ùn l'hà fattu, hà in realtà unitu à elli è ancu cum'è cunsiglieru scolasticu per una scola elementaria. Mi sentia sicura intornu à ellu, è dicu cose solu per scopre chì hà dettu à Shasta è Shelly tuttu. Avissi duvutu sapè chì ùn era micca gentile quandu hà rubatu ricumpense in contante da i nostri clienti è li hà datu à Lela è Kris.

Chi crederia in mè? Ancu se andassi à HR, nimu da quellu magazinu si sarebbe alzatu per mè. Ancu quandu pensava chì Lela era a mo amica. Quandu mi cunfortava quandu Shasta o Catherine eranu cattivi cun mè. Ella mandava messaghji à Shelly mentre era à travagliu quandu Shelly era fora nantu à l'aghjurnamenti nantu à mè. Penso chì esse pagatu sottu à u tavulinu per guardà u figliolu di Shelly ti hà fattu entrà in a farmacia.

A stessa pusizione à quale travagliava, ma Shasta mi hà dettu chì era troppu avanzata in a mo gravidanza per piglià i corsi. A stessa gravidanza chì era constantemente paragunata à Catherine quandu ella hè 10 anni più ghjovana di mè.

Aghju luttatu per diventà incinta è queste persone chì pensava chì si curavanu di mè quasi m'hanu fattu perde lu quandu sò stata mandata à l'ER per esse disidratata per andà avanti è indietro in l'estate à u contu di fronte è à a foto. Solu per sapè chì Kris è Abe eranu solu seduti in u magazzinu à parlà.

Matt era u mo unicu veru amicu, hè statu cacciatu da Shasta per esse trans. Abe si unirebbe ancu, cum'è qualcunu di u club di l'arcubalenu. Ùn sò micca surpresu, aghju sempre sentitu chì ùn era micca una di quelle anime boni; ancu se hè un maestru di scola di duminca è ancu cunsiglieru scolasticu. No, Matt era è hè sempre bonu. Ricordu quandu HR hè stata chjamata, Shasta hà chjamatu u mo telefunu dumandendu chì le dicessi chì hà chjamatu HR. Eru cusì spaventata, Matt ùn m'hà mai tenutu contr'à mè per ùn parlà a mo verità. Stava attraversendu u peghju PPD, è Matt m'hà tenuta mentre piangeva.

Sometimes at work when I am at place where they have pet I can't help myself. This cutie pie was with me the whole time when I was cleaning and did the the windows ( 34 windows on the inside and 34 windows for the outside = 68 windows) took me around 5hr50min to do it all 👌

A volte à u travagliu, quandu sò in un locu induve anu animali, ùn possu micca aiutà. Questa carina era cun mè tuttu u tempu quandu stava pulendu è hà fattu e finestre (34 finestre à l'internu è 34 finestre à l'esterno = 68 finestre) mi ci hè vulsutu circa 5 ore è 50 minuti per fà tuttu 👌
