As a winger, he possessed exceptional speed, agility, and technical skills, which made him a formidable attacking force. Hamrin played alongside legendary players like Gianni Rivera and Cesare Maldini, contributing significantly to Milan's two consecutive Serie A titles in 1967 and 1968.

In addition to his club success, Hamrin was a crucial figure in the Swedish national team. From 1953 to 1970, he represented his country in 32 matches, scoring 17 goals in the process.
