After graduating from high school, Moscot enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he continued to hone his pitching abilities. In 2012, he transferred to Pepperdine University, where he played for the Waves' baseball team. During his time at Pepperdine, Moscot exhibited his exceptional talent, earning numerous accolades and recognition for his outstanding performances.
In 2012, Jon Moscot's baseball journey reached a new milestone as he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team, in the 4th round of the MLB Draft.
