He was born on October 25, 1947, in Oakland, California and passed away on June 18, 2011, in San Diego, California. Joshua had an extensive career in baseball, playing in the major leagues, as well as serving as a coach for various teams. He achieved recognition for his skills on the field and his contributions to the sport as a coach. Joshua began his professional baseball career in 1969 when he was drafted as a first baseman by the San Francisco Giants. He made his major league debut on September 15, 1970, with the Giants. Over the course of his career, he played for multiple teams including the San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
