Zach Day, born on June 15, 1978, in La Mirada, California, is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Day spent eight seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), primarily as a relief pitcher. He is best known for his time with the Washington Nationals, where he played from 2003 to 2006.

Day attended La Serna High School in Whittier, California, where he excelled in both baseball and football. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 1996 MLB Draft. However, Day opted to play college baseball at Santa Ana College before transferring to Cal State Fullerton.

In 2002, Zach Day made his MLB debut for the Montreal Expos, who later became the Washington Nationals. He quickly established himself as a promising young pitcher with a potent sinkerball. Day's ability to induce ground balls and limit home runs showcased his talent on the mound.

Although injuries would hamper his career, Day managed to make meaningful contributions to his teams. Besides the Nationals, he also played for the Colorado Rockies, the Washington Nationals, the Colorado Rockies, and the San Diego Padres. In total, he recorded a career ERA of 4.66 with a win-loss record of 24-29.

After retiring from professional baseball, Day continued to work within the sport. He transitioned into coaching, holding various positions in the minor leagues, including pitching coach and coordinator.
