Born on August 6, 1879, in Simla, India, he was the eldest son of Robert Bulwer-Lytton, the 2nd Earl of Lytton, and Edith Villiers. Educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge, Neville Bulwer-Lytton developed a keen interest in politics and international affairs from a young age.
