Nach der Arbeit

After five years of working in that pit, the toxicity of assuming I had friendships, how did I?

My last straw that broke me mentality was when I realized my friend Shelly for years, turned out to be the one causing all my drama at work.

Way before I ended up pregnant with the same person that my old boss literally placed on a pillow, Catherine. Now, Catherine and I did end up pregnant at the same time and I was excited to share the experience.

Until I realized Catherine was throwing me under the bus with our mutual friend Kris. Kris was young, and I thought she was kind. She showed me her true colors when I rounded the corner to find her, Catherine, Shelly and our boss Shasta talking about me. I still cant get that smirk out of my head, it was cat like...and I was their mouse. 

Shasta, she broke my heart the moment she pulled me into the office before her promotion. She started demanding I owned up talking to HR about our old boss, Clint. I kept denying it only to find out thst Shelly used me as a escape goat. 

Shasta now the manager, and Shelly the assistant. Didn't know I would be treated with lack of care. They were never my friends neither, along with Lela, and Abe. 

Abe really shocked me, I honestly thought he would have cared. He didn't, he actually joined in with them and even as a school counselor for a elementary school. I felt safe around him, and I would tell him things only to discover he told Shasta and Shelly everything. I should've known he wasn't nice wheb he stole cash rewards from our customers and handed them out to Lela and Kris. 

Who would believe me? Even if I went to HR, no one from that store would have stood up for me. Even when I thought Lela was my friend. When he would comfort me when Shasta or Catherine was mean to me. She would text Shelly while at work when Shelly was off about updates about me. I guess being paid under the table to watch Shelly's son got you in the pharmacy.

The same position I was working towards but Shasta told me I was too far along in my pregnancy to take the courses. The same pregnancy that was constantly compared to Catherine when she is 10 years younger than me. 

I struggled to get pregnant and these people that I thought cared about me nearly caused me to lose him when I was sent to the ER for being dehydrated for run ing back and forth in the summer front counter and photo. Only to know that Kris and Abe was just sitting in the stockroom talking.

Matt was my only true friend, he was ran out by Shasta due to being trans. Abe would even, as someone from the  rainbow club, join in.  Not surprised, I always felt that he wasnt one of the good soul; even though his a Sunday school teacher as well on top of being a school counselor. No, Matt was and still is good. I remember when HR was called, Shasta called my cellphone demanding I tell her who called HR. I was so scared, Matt never held it against me for not speaking my truth. I was going through the worse PPD, and Matt held me as I cried. 


How did I survive? 

I held onto that hug from Matt, even when he had to leave. Matt was my only true friend from that store. I may have had to be in the pit for years , but Matt showed me even when you are down, you don't stop.

I did, I held on tight for not only myself but for my son. My son needed me to work because we lost our benefits despite my husband losing his job. The weight came off not because of my workout plan I told my ex coworkers, but I starved.

Our foodstamps have been taken along with my son's wic and insurance. I made aure my husband and son ate while I struggled to pay my own bills. Work was cutting back on my hours due to my spinal injury from giving birth. 

(Don't get me started on the bullying and harassment Shasta and that whole team put me through over my stool. Which, it was rainbowed colored)

The way those women gossip behind my back, but I kept going. Despite the looks, the whispers, and the fake smiles. Even when I was pulled in the office with my two very "best friends" from the start  Shasta and Shelly and threw a "Mental Health" packet and in a professional way 

'We are going to fire you'

News flash, thank you Matt for helping me get enrolled into the free therapy 🥰😘

They were shocked to find out that I was already 6 weeks into my therapy. Soon, Shelly world came all crasijg down, the lies she built on me tumbled, out the door she went leaving me with Shasta and  Catherine .

Yet, I already had my foot out the door and into another job before the holidays. Your scape goat and working mule is OUT OF HERE

How did I survive?

Nach fünf Jahren Arbeit in diesem Loch, der Giftigkeit, zu glauben, ich hätte Freundschaften, wie habe ich das geschafft?

Der letzte Tropfen, der mein mentales Fass zum Überlaufen brachte, war, als ich erkannte, dass meine Freundin Shelly, die ich jahrelang hatte, diejenige war, die all mein Drama bei der Arbeit verursachte.

Lange bevor ich mit der gleichen Person schwanger wurde, die mein alter Chef mir buchstäblich auf ein Kissen gelegt hatte, Catherine. Nun, Catherine und ich wurden zur gleichen Zeit schwanger und ich war aufgeregt, die Erfahrung zu teilen.

Bis ich merkte, dass Catherine mich mit unserer gemeinsamen Freundin Kris in die Pfanne haute. Kris war jung, und ich dachte, sie wäre nett. Sie zeigte mir ihr wahres Gesicht, als ich um die Ecke bog und sie, Catherine, Shelly und unsere Chefin Shasta über mich reden sah. Ich kann dieses schadenfrohe Grinsen immer noch nicht aus meinem Kopf bekommen, es war katzenhaft... und ich war ihre Maus.

Shasta, sie brach mir das Herz, als sie mich vor ihrer Beförderung ins Büro zog. Sie begann zu verlangen, dass ich zugebe, mit der Personalabteilung über unseren alten Chef, Clint, gesprochen zu haben. Ich leugnete es immer wieder, nur um herauszufinden, dass Shelly mich als Sündenbock benutzt hatte.

Shasta jetzt die Managerin und Shelly die Assistentin. Ich wusste nicht, dass ich so wenig Wertschätzung erfahren würde. Sie waren nie meine Freunde, ebenso wenig wie Lela und Abe.

Abe hat mich wirklich schockiert, ich dachte ehrlich, er würde sich kümmern. Tat er nicht, er machte sogar mit ihnen mit und das als Schulberater an einer Grundschule. Ich fühlte mich in seiner Nähe sicher und erzählte ihm Dinge, nur um zu entdecken, dass er Shasta und Shelly alles erzählte. Ich hätte wissen müssen, dass er nicht nett war, als er Bargeldprämien von unseren Kunden stahl und sie an Lela und Kris verteilte.

Wer würde mir glauben? Selbst wenn ich zur Personalabteilung gegangen wäre, hätte niemand aus diesem Laden für mich eingestanden. Selbst als ich dachte, Lela wäre meine Freundin. Als sie mich tröstete, wenn Shasta oder Catherine gemein zu mir waren. Sie schrieb Shelly während der Arbeit, wenn Shelly frei hatte, Updates über mich. Ich schätze, dass man unter dem Tisch bezahlt wird, um Shellys Sohn zu betreuen, hat dir einen Job in der Apotheke eingebracht.

Die gleiche Position, auf die ich hinarbeitete, aber Shasta sagte mir, ich sei zu weit in meiner Schwangerschaft, um die Kurse zu belegen. Die gleiche Schwangerschaft, die ständig mit Catherine verglichen wurde, die 10 Jahre jünger ist als ich.

Ich hatte Schwierigkeiten, schwanger zu werden, und diese Leute, von denen ich dachte, sie würden sich um mich kümmern, hätten mich fast dazu gebracht, ihn zu verlieren, als ich wegen Dehydration in die Notaufnahme geschickt wurde, weil ich im Sommer ständig zwischen dem Empfang und der Fotoabteilung hin und her rannte. Nur um zu wissen, dass Kris und Abe einfach im Lager saßen und redeten.

Matt war mein einziger wahrer Freund, er wurde von Shasta vertrieben, weil er trans war. Abe würde sogar, als jemand aus dem Regenbogenclub, mitmachen. Nicht überrascht, ich hatte immer das Gefühl, dass er nicht einer der guten Seelen war; obwohl er auch Sonntagsschullehrer und Schulberater war. Nein, Matt war und ist gut. Ich erinnere mich, als die Personalabteilung gerufen wurde, rief Shasta auf meinem Handy an und verlangte, dass ich ihr sage, wer die Personalabteilung angerufen hatte. Ich hatte solche Angst, Matt hielt es mir nie vor, dass ich meine Wahrheit nicht ausgesprochen habe. Ich hatte die schlimmste postpartale Depression, und Matt hielt mich, während ich weinte.

Wie habe ich überlebt?

Ich hielt an dieser Umarmung von Matt fest, selbst als er gehen musste. Matt war mein einziger wahrer Freund aus diesem Laden. Ich musste vielleicht jahrelang in diesem Loch sein, aber Matt zeigte mir, dass man auch wenn man am Boden ist, nicht aufhören sollte.

Das tat ich, ich hielt fest, nicht nur für mich, sondern für meinen Sohn. Mein Sohn brauchte mich, um zu arbeiten, weil wir unsere Leistungen verloren hatten, obwohl mein Mann seinen Job verlor. Das Gewicht fiel nicht ab, weil ich einen Trainingsplan hatte, den ich meinen ehemaligen Kollegen erzählt hatte, sondern weil ich hungerte.

Unsere Lebensmittelmarken wurden zusammen mit dem WIC und der Versicherung meines Sohnes gestrichen. Ich sorgte dafür, dass mein Mann und mein Sohn aßen, während ich kämpfte

Wie habe ich überlebt?

The embarrassing part is that i was like, looking like a threat bcz i kept repeating “No ill come back with your change!!!!” omfgggg i cant imagine what they were thinking WHYWHWYWHWYW i hope i never see them again for their sake.

eine freundliche Frau und ihre jugendliche Tochter kamen in unser Café, und nachdem sie gegessen hatten, wollten sie Trinkgeld geben, aber ich weiß nicht, warum ich es abgelehnt habe. Der peinliche Teil ist, dass ich wie eine Bedrohung aussah, weil ich immer wieder sagte: „Nein, ich komme mit Ihrem Wechselgeld zurück!!!!“ omfgggg ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, was sie gedacht haben, WARUMWARUMWARUM ich hoffe, ich sehe sie nie wieder, ihres Wohlbefindens wegen.
