Eddie Mesa is a Filipino singer, actor, and producer. Born on October 20, 1939, in Manila, Philippines, he is one of the most prominent artists of the Philippine entertainment industry. Mesa gained popularity in the 1960s for his hit songs such as "Sa Linggo ang Bola" and "Kung Saan Ka Masaya" and became one of the most admired male singers of his time. Mesa started his career in the late 1950s as a member of the band, The Electromaniacs. He then ventured into acting, making his film debut in 1957 in the movie "Lolita My Love." Since then, he has starred in over 70 films and television shows, including "Ito ang Pilipino" (1966), "Abaranger vs. Hurricaneger" (2004), and "Kambal sa Uma" (2009). Aside from his successful career in show business, Mesa is also a known producer. In 1973, he established his own film production company, D'lanor Productions, and produced several films such as "Sa Awsin at Selda" (1973) and "Anak ng Bulkan" (1987). He also produced television shows such as "Ang TV" and "That's Entertainment" in the 1980s and 1990s, respectively. Throughout his career, Mesa has been recognized for his contribution to the entertainment industry in the Philippines. He was awarded the 2004 Outstanding Artist Award by the Philippine Heritage Council and was inducted into the FAMAS Hall of Fame in 1994 for his outstanding contributions to Philippine cinema. Nowadays, although semi-retired, Mesa remains a respected figure in the industry and continues to inspire aspiring singers, actors, and producers.
