Lan egin ondoren

After five years of working in that pit, the toxicity of assuming I had friendships, how did I?

My last straw that broke me mentality was when I realized my friend Shelly for years, turned out to be the one causing all my drama at work.

Way before I ended up pregnant with the same person that my old boss literally placed on a pillow, Catherine. Now, Catherine and I did end up pregnant at the same time and I was excited to share the experience.

Until I realized Catherine was throwing me under the bus with our mutual friend Kris. Kris was young, and I thought she was kind. She showed me her true colors when I rounded the corner to find her, Catherine, Shelly and our boss Shasta talking about me. I still cant get that smirk out of my head, it was cat like...and I was their mouse. 

Shasta, she broke my heart the moment she pulled me into the office before her promotion. She started demanding I owned up talking to HR about our old boss, Clint. I kept denying it only to find out thst Shelly used me as a escape goat. 

Shasta now the manager, and Shelly the assistant. Didn't know I would be treated with lack of care. They were never my friends neither, along with Lela, and Abe. 

Abe really shocked me, I honestly thought he would have cared. He didn't, he actually joined in with them and even as a school counselor for a elementary school. I felt safe around him, and I would tell him things only to discover he told Shasta and Shelly everything. I should've known he wasn't nice wheb he stole cash rewards from our customers and handed them out to Lela and Kris. 

Who would believe me? Even if I went to HR, no one from that store would have stood up for me. Even when I thought Lela was my friend. When he would comfort me when Shasta or Catherine was mean to me. She would text Shelly while at work when Shelly was off about updates about me. I guess being paid under the table to watch Shelly's son got you in the pharmacy.

The same position I was working towards but Shasta told me I was too far along in my pregnancy to take the courses. The same pregnancy that was constantly compared to Catherine when she is 10 years younger than me. 

I struggled to get pregnant and these people that I thought cared about me nearly caused me to lose him when I was sent to the ER for being dehydrated for run ing back and forth in the summer front counter and photo. Only to know that Kris and Abe was just sitting in the stockroom talking.

Matt was my only true friend, he was ran out by Shasta due to being trans. Abe would even, as someone from the  rainbow club, join in.  Not surprised, I always felt that he wasnt one of the good soul; even though his a Sunday school teacher as well on top of being a school counselor. No, Matt was and still is good. I remember when HR was called, Shasta called my cellphone demanding I tell her who called HR. I was so scared, Matt never held it against me for not speaking my truth. I was going through the worse PPD, and Matt held me as I cried. 


How did I survive? 

I held onto that hug from Matt, even when he had to leave. Matt was my only true friend from that store. I may have had to be in the pit for years , but Matt showed me even when you are down, you don't stop.

I did, I held on tight for not only myself but for my son. My son needed me to work because we lost our benefits despite my husband losing his job. The weight came off not because of my workout plan I told my ex coworkers, but I starved.

Our foodstamps have been taken along with my son's wic and insurance. I made aure my husband and son ate while I struggled to pay my own bills. Work was cutting back on my hours due to my spinal injury from giving birth. 

(Don't get me started on the bullying and harassment Shasta and that whole team put me through over my stool. Which, it was rainbowed colored)

The way those women gossip behind my back, but I kept going. Despite the looks, the whispers, and the fake smiles. Even when I was pulled in the office with my two very "best friends" from the start  Shasta and Shelly and threw a "Mental Health" packet and in a professional way 

'We are going to fire you'

News flash, thank you Matt for helping me get enrolled into the free therapy 🥰😘

They were shocked to find out that I was already 6 weeks into my therapy. Soon, Shelly world came all crasijg down, the lies she built on me tumbled, out the door she went leaving me with Shasta and  Catherine .

Yet, I already had my foot out the door and into another job before the holidays. Your scape goat and working mule is OUT OF HERE

How did I survive?

Hamar urteko lanaren ondoren, lagunartea izateko irudipena izatearen toxikotasuna, nola iritsi nintzen?

Nire burua apurtu zuen azken estropoia izan zen, urteetan nire laguna zen Shelly, laneko drama guztia sortzen ari zela ohartu nintzenean.

Lehenago, Catherine izeneko pertsona berarekin haurdun geratu nintzen, nire ex-burua literalki buruko batean jarri zuen. Orain, Catherine eta ni aldi berean haurdun geratu ginen eta esperientzia partekatzeko ilusioa nuen.

Catherine gure lagun komunean Krisekin autobusean botatzen ninduela ohartu nintzen arte. Kris gaztea zen, eta ona zela pentsatu nuen. Bere benetako koloreak erakutsi zizkidan, txoko bat biratu nuenean, Catherine, Shelly eta gure burua Shasta nire inguruan hitz egiten aurkitu nituen. Oraindik ezin dut irudikatu irri hori, katu baten antzekoa zen... eta ni haien sagua nintzen.

Shasta, nire bihotza apurtu zuen momentuan, bulegoan sartu ninduen bere promozioa baino lehen. HRri buruz Clint izeneko gure ex-buruari buruz hitz egitea eskatzen hasi zen. Ezin nuen ukatu, Shellyk ihes-ardoa bezala erabili ninduela jakin nuen arte.

Shasta orain kudeatzailea da, eta Shelly laguntzailea. Ez nuen pentsatu ere tratatuak izango nintzenik. Ez ziren nire lagunak, Lela eta Abe ere bai.

Abe benetan harritu ninduen, benetan pentsatu nuen arduratuko zela. Ez zen, haiekin bat egin zuen eta baita eskolako aholkulari gisa ere. Berarekin seguru sentitzen nintzen, eta gauzak kontatzen nizkion, Shasta eta Shellyri dena kontatzen ziela jakin nuen arte. Jakiteko, ez zela ona, gure bezeroetatik diru sariak lapurtu zituela eta Lela eta Krisi ematen zizkiela.

Nor sinatuko ninduen? HRra joan banintz, denda horretako inork ez ninduen defendatuko. Lela nire laguna zela pentsatu nuen, Shasta edo Catherine nirekin zakar jokatzen zenean kontsolatzen ninduen. Lanera textuak bidaltzen zizkion Shellyri, Shelly lanetik kanpo zenean, nire inguruko eguneratzeak emateko. Uste dut Shellyren semea zaintzeagatik mahai gaineko dirua irabaztea lortu zuela farmaziara sartzeko.

Nire lanpostuari begira nengoen, baina Shastak esan zidan haurdunaldian aurreratuegia nintzela ikastaroak hartzeko. Haurdunaldia, Catherinekin etengabe alderatzen zen, 10 urte gazteagoa dena.

Haurdun geratzeko borroka egin nuen eta niretzat arduratzen ziren pertsona hauek ia nire semea galtzera eraman ninduten, udako aurreko kontuan eta argazkian joan-etorrian ibiltzeagatik deshidratatuta ERra bidali nindutenean. Kris eta Abe biltegian eserita hitz egiten zeudela jakin nuen.

Matt izan zen nire benetako lagunik bakarra, Shastak kanporatu zuen trans izateagatik. Abe, iren gorriko kide gisa, bat egin zuen. Ez naiz harrituta, beti sentitu nuen ez zela arima ona; igande eskolako irakaslea izateaz gain, eskolako aholkularia ere bada. Ez, Matt ona zen eta oraindik ona da. HRra deitu zutenean, Shastak nire telefono mugikorrean deitu zidan HRra nor deitu zuen eskatuz. Oso beldurtuta nengoen, Matt ez zuen nire egia ez esateagatik errieta egin. PPD txarrena pasatzen ari nintzen, eta Matt nirekin egon zen negar egiten nuen bitartean.

Matt-en besarkada horri eutsi nion, irten behar izan zuen arren. Matt izan zen denda horretako nire benetako lagunik bakarra. Urteak pit batean

a kind woman and her teenage daughter came to our cafe, and after they ate they wanted to tip but IDK WHY i refused it. The embarrassing part is that i was like, looking like a threat bcz i kept repeating “No ill come back with your change!!!!” omfgggg i cant imagine what they were thinking WHYWHWYWHWYW i hope i never see them again for their sake.

andre atsegin bat eta bere nerabe alaba gure kafetegira etorri ziren, eta jan ondoren, txartela ematea nahi zuten baina ez dakit zergatik ukatu nien. Lotsagarria dena da, mehatxu bat bezala nengoela, “Ez, itzuliko naiz zure aldaketa ekartzera!!!!” errepikatzen ari nintzelako. omfgggg ez dut irudikatu nahi zer pentsatzen ari ziren, ZERGATIK ZERGATIK ZERGATIK espero dut inoiz ez ikustea berriro haien onerako.

Spent the whole day cleaning one of my favorite workplaces, plus every window today. My body is officially done 😅 But only a few more days until vacation starts on Friday 🥳🪟✨

Thankfully only the 3rd floor this time… unlike that one time on the 11th floor with one foot on the railing. 😅
