Rate the Film: 2006’s The Queen

Where would you rate The Queen. Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions in the comments. For me: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I was around the day Princess Diana died, but I was just a kid and knew very little about her other than she was well loved in Great Britain. The film does go into her life quite a bit, but the main focus is Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family’s reaction to her death as well as decision to make her funeral arrangements private or public. The performances alone are what makes this film great including the writing using a bit of wit and humor especially for one character Prince Phillip played by James Cromwell. Will say though it’s not for everyone. It’s not exciting and can be dull. Also this might be a stretch, but I think reactions to this film might be more negative nowadays for the wrong reasons which I’m assuming is because of the happenings involving Meghan Markle. Again a stretch, but might be the case. If you like history or know little to none about Princess Diana and the Royal families initial approach in handling her death, this isn’t bad to check out. Still recommend doing bit of research though before watching it.
