A. J. Price, born Anthony Jordan Price Jr., is a former professional basketball player hailing from the United States. Born on October 7, 1986, in Orange, New Jersey, he established himself as a talented point guard throughout his career. Price garnered attention for his exceptional basketball skills, athleticism, and on-court leadership. Although he may not be known as a global celebrity in the traditional sense, within the realm of basketball, Price certainly made a name for himself.
Price's basketball journey began in his high school years at Amityville Memorial High School in Amityville, New York. His exceptional talent shone through during this time, as he consistently delivered outstanding performances on the court, drawing the attention of collegiate recruiters. Following his high school success, Price attended the University of Connecticut (UCONN) to play for the Huskies' men’s basketball team.
Throughout his time at UCONN, Price continued to showcase his skills, contributing significantly to the team’s victories. Notably, in the 2008-2009 season, during his senior year, he played a crucial role in leading the Huskies to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. His stellar performances earned him recognition as the Most Outstanding Player of the West Regional.
After an impressive collegiate career, A. J. Price declared for the 2009 NBA Draft. He was selected in the second round as the 52nd overall pick by the Indiana Pacers. Price spent four seasons in the NBA, playing for various teams including the Pacers, Washington Wizards, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Since retiring from professional basketball, Price has transitioned into coaching.
