ALF will always be a beloved show for me, but it feels on par to Friends or Third Rock From the Sun, which are both 90s shows, despite ALF starting in the 80s.
To this day, I'd say ALF has this 'connection' to its audience, where if they kept the writing as great, the Tanners and/or ALF could seamlessly appear in stuff like Always Sunny or The Office.
(The movie wasn't fantastic, but everything has its flops)
