Nay Win, also known as U Win Htain, was a prominent Burmese actor, director, and producer from Myanmar. He was born on November 12, 1918, in Yangon, Burma (now Myanmar). Nay Win was hailed as one of the pioneers of Burmese cinema, having made significant contributions to the industry for over seven decades. Nay Win started his acting career in the 1930s during the golden age of Burmese cinema. He quickly gained recognition for his versatile acting skills and charisma on the big screen. Throughout his career, he appeared in over 200 films, portraying a wide range of characters and genres. His notable roles include historical figures, comedians, villains, and romantic leads, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Apart from acting, Nay Win also ventured into directing and producing films. He founded his own production company, Yan Ba Htoo Film Production, which played a significant role in promoting and preserving Burmese cinema. Nay Win's dedication to the industry earned him numerous accolades and awards, including the prestigious Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. Nay Win's impact on Burmese cinema went beyond his own artistic contributions.
